I did manage to land though, on the belly of the aircraft, as its glide descent rate is exceptional, so some things work. To my surprise, I found that she's really quite slow to turn when you're very high or very slow. By clicking the individual, color-coded buttons, you can release whatever type of smoke you'd like, or all three at once. But with the weight of the BAe Hawk and given its performance capability, it is a tribute to the manufacturer, and also to SkySim, that this airplane can do exactly what you expect from it. For one, when you turn on the parking brake when the engine is off, after awhile some stairs will pop up to the cockpit, dust plugs will go onto the airplane, and the chocks connected by a length of material, again nicely modeled will display. Having studied the real Red Arrow Hawk interior, I have to say that this simulation is first class, with every dial, switch and button faithfully re-produced.

An AI model would have been a bonus! One thing that I was quite happy to see was that Skysim decided to model both the front and rear cockpits. The Hawk doesn't, but is rather created from good ole' scratch.
This aircraft flies mostly like you'd expect: A lot of add-ons these days seem to be going for photoreal cockpits. Having studied the real Red Arrow Hawk interior, I have to say that this simulation is first class, with every dial, switch and button faithfully re-produced.
- Skysim BAe Systems Hawk
Hawk in cruise mode. Any lover of British aeronautics or fighters in general would do well to add this aircraft to his or her wishlist. So be warned once again, that it is essential to read every line on every page in order to be the proud owner of a BAe Hawk T1. With very little effort, the aircraft can be made to roll and setting take-off thrust gives a lively leap forward, which is pleasing because this little engine gives 5, pounds of static thrust at sea level, sskysim is way under the 90, plus pounds of thrust from a Rolls Royce Trent r1 I have been used to working with on the Boeing There is some superb texturing and wkysim that has gone into this aircraft's creation, and while she's not perfect, I think this is one of the best exterior models that I've seen for the simulator.
Skysim's BAe Systems Hawk T1
I'll admit the Hawk is fairly simple in the way of programming. I was disappointed by the lack of an APU as this adds more realism to the aircraft and surely can't be that hard to model. While the weapons aren't launchable, it is neat to see.
I've ran the first three of their products and have been able to experience to gauge progress as a company so far. Not withstanding that I have also spent hours on the Hawk production line, the SkySim BAe Hawk is the most realistic and well finished aircraft I have had the pleasure to fly wkysim review.
The fuselage comprises of three main parts. I will skysimm the exterior model in two forms: The exterior model of the cockpit is really superb, and I've seen few add-ons pay as much attention to this as Skysim.
As this is an aerobatic jet trainer and team performer, I give it full marks for all of that.
A deliberate nose dive increases the airspeed nicely and despite being told it can do Mach 1 in a dive, I decide not to go that far but it can move very swiftly. It is First Class Material. Over the North Sea. I'd recommend pulling up at about feet for safety's sake.
Even the smoke controls are missing in the rear cockpit, which is spot on. On the top right of the glareshield, the switches for the display smoke can be found. I have reviewed a few aircraft now, have flown a lot more, crashed and burned and flown to victory, but in all my years as a career Engineer and Instructor, I find very few simulated aircraft I fly all the time. The photoreal qualities of the landing gear, the bays, and all of the other features of the exterior are simply beautifully done.
This is a bit of a let-down as you look at this area quite a bit. All throughout flying, diving, and taking off, you'll hear the great effects. Ooh, pretty colours, and what a trail I can trace in the sky; red, white or blue and can even fly through it if I want. I usually lifted the nose off with one click of flaps at around knots.
No other Red Arrows to fly with, unless I go the multi-player route. On the runway and hakw up, clearance to depart is given and I push the throttle forward, feeling the thrust lift the front end on the nose oleo slightly. Hawk ready to taxi. The one downside to this add-on, in my opinion, is the lack of paints included. A high speed spurt and again this aircraft performs well, it's harder to get big movements in any axis but that's to hawi expected.
